Zuzana Krinková

I hold degrees in Hungarian Studies, Italian Studies, and Hispanic Studies from the Faculty of Arts at Charles University, where I also earned a Ph.D.
Language and textual work—especially with historical sources—have long been at the center of my professional focus. For fourteen years, I worked at a university, teaching the historical development of language, the analysis of historical texts, and issues of language contact. My research has also addressed, among other topics, the Roma minority in Spain. Over time, I have increasingly specialized in working with early modern sources. I have completed specialist training in paleography and now focus primarily on the transcription, translation, and interpretation of historical texts in Italian, Spanish, and Hungarian.
My long-term research centers on the period of the Habsburg–Ottoman wars, particularly the Fifteen Years' War. I am interested not only in the historical context itself, but also in how these events are represented in contemporary texts. Alongside my academic work, I am actively engaged in public outreach: I organize lectures and educational programs and work as a guide in Prague. I am the author of scholarly publications and articles, and I am developing my own publishing and research project that integrates source-based research, translation, and book publishing.
